ADIDAS SUPERSTAR 50TH ANNIVERSARY x EVERYDAY SUPERSTAR
My favorite client work by far. I had the opportunity to collab with adidas to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Superstar sneaker. The overarching theme of this campaign was to introduce students to the idea of finding inspiration within their community and ultimately be inspired to contribute and impact their community, Community Superstars. This project allowed me to connect with inspiring students and staff across schools in South Central, LA and Bronx, NY. I had the pleasure of curating and overseeing the brand design, outreach and ROS of the project.
The LA activation brought in creatives and within various artistic mediums; music, art design, and marketing, to share with students how their community inspired them to create their art and change the trajectory of the spaces around them. After being introduced to panelist, students had the opportunity to create custom adidas superstar sneakers with help from a panelists in the laser engraving and screen printing space. After submitting their design, students moved to separate rooms to create vision boards taking inspiration from superstar panelists.
The New York activation, led by three art curators, gave Bronx High School students the opportunity to visit David Zwirner gallery in Manhattan to meet and interact with the work of legendary painter, Noah Davis. The students got a first hand perspective of how Noah Davis’ daily surroundings inspired him to create his transcendent art that was shared and gained notoriety in his community. After the gallery visit, students arrived back to school where they got the chance to reflect on what they seen and given the opportunity to custom design adidas superstar sneakers using curated painting supplies made for sneaker design.
While there were many production and logistics heavy tasks for this this project, it felt like a breeze knowing we were impacting students
