ULTRABOOST19 x BOOST YOUR BLOCK x REBOOST YOUR GAME (2019)
”Pressure us nothing more than the shadow of great opportunity” - Michael Johnson.
The opportunity to work on the Ultraboost run projects allowed me to “show up” in ways I never imagined. Boost Your Block taking place in Miami and Santa Monica and Reboost Your Game taking place in DTLA, respectively, sought to bring visibility to the Ultraboost19 Shoe in retail spaces, Chmps and Footlocker.
Boost Your Block used running as a medium to highlight the community and its gems, a running scavenger hunt. As a marathoner and running enthusiast, the decision to step in as a lead runner seemed like a no-brainer…Make sure I knew the run route, how to warm up a crowd, and how to move slow enough for the photo/video teams and runners to keep up. I didn’t know that I would step into lead creative and production roles, project managing influencers, talent, guest-lists and brand seeding from start to finish.
BYB took us on a running journey of 4-5 historical and influential points throughout Miami Wynwood Art and Santa Monica Pier Districts.
I found myself again working with designers and fabricators to produce custom seeding and giveaways items for influencers and participants. Roughly 20+ seeding boxes were sent to influencers around the US, creating hype around the shoe and bringing out running and sneaker enthusiasts in each city.
To top it off, during the event afterparty I was asked to MC. While I used a bunch of my energy during the run I needed to keep the same energy while hosting the after party. I had to do this in both Miami and LA.
Through this project, I learned what it takes to step into a leadership role but I also learned that I am capable of being a strong leader.
Reboost your game took adidas Legacy partnered LA High Schools and give its sports playing students a day of activations and programming in an effort to encourage them to stay inspired through sports and education.
Reboost your game allowed me to PM game programming and produce curated items to giveaway to the students, (I.e. bumper balls). I once again got the opportunity to MC the games and keep the students energized throughout the day.
Amazing, beautiful, liberating yet exhausting experience. You don’t know what someone can do until you give them the opportunity to shine.
